Educational scenario- Co-educational, multifaculty pioneer institution in 36 acres of land in Godda town area of Santal Pargana, Jharkhand. Providing facilities for UG (B.A/B.Sc), PG (M.A/M.Sc) and B.Ed level of quality education specially to the socially and economically weakened sections of the society and tribal community of this area since last 60 years. It imparts facilities of research leading to Ph.D degree.
Hostels for SC, ST, OBC students, Library, separate B.Ed building, Arts block, Science block, Laboratories, Computer lab, Auditorium, Examination hall and play ground etc. are the existing facilities in the campus.
35 teachers are working at present against sanctioned post besides 06 temporary faculties working in education faculty. On the basis of merit based admission total strength of the students in all programmes in 2014-15 are 2449 out of which 803 are female students.
Vision and Mission- The objective of the institution is to improve equity in higher education by providing equal opportunities to women, minorities, SC, ST, OBC and differently able persons. Efforts to provide skill based income generating programmes to the learners specially in the field of Computer Science, Tasar culture, Apiculture, Bamboocrafting and Agrofarming etc.

Introduction
Godda College, Godda was established on 15th August 1954 by the joint active efforts of the freedom fighters and educationists of this area. The foundation of its main building was laid down on 29th November 1957 by the then Chief Minister of Bihar Sri Srikrishna Singh while the college building was inaugurated on 23rd Oct 1959 by the then President of Indian National Congress Smt. Indira Gandhi.
Before 1960 it was affiliated to Bihar University and later on to Bhagalpur University. It became a constituent unit of Bhagalpur University on 27th February 1976 and then the University bifurcated in the year 2000 under an established Sido-Kanhu Murmu University(SKMU) Dumka, Jharkhand, duly approved by the regulatory body (UGC).
It is a co-educational pioneer institute located in 36 acres of land in Godda town area of Santal-Pargana, Jharkhand. It has been providing UG and PG level of education specially to the backward and tribal community of this area. The effort of the institution is to make a knowledge-based society with a view to protecting the interest of the community, and motivating the academic excellence and fulfilling the expectations of the tribal community as well as society at large.
Godda College is a multifaculty institution which imparts quality education in different subjects of Arts, Science and Education. It has maintained the quality of teaching and research by offering UG level programmes (BA/B.Sc) in 17 subjects and PG (MA/M.Sc) in 08 subjects alongwith research facilities leading to Ph.D degree of the university. It has got achievements in social transformation through suppoting the poor students residing in the remote areas as well as in the hostels (SC,ST,OBC) situated in the campus. The number of faculties working at present against sanctioned post are 35 while 06 temporary faculties are in education faculty. Total strength of the students in all programmes in 2014-15 is 2449 out of which 803 are female students. The status of total SC, ST, OBC and General students in all programmes are 147, 1063, 995 and 244 respectively. The institution has an Arts block, Science block, Separate B.Ed building, Library, Computer lab, Common room (boys and girls) and an examination hall. The teachers and students of the institution are recognized nationally and internationally in various fields of education and research along with social and community development sectors.
